Industrial Design

Through Art

I make rubbings of industrial art by placing paper on the metal object and rubbing the image with an oil pastel.  Most of the objects are cast iron and were made at foundries that no longer exist.  Many of my rubbings document designs from an overlooked era of industrial design.  They include manhole covers, water meter covers, drains, heater grates, historical plaques and more.
